This Halloween Snack Mix is the ultimate sweet and salty chocolate peanut butter treat. My kids have always loved Chex Muddy Buddies, which are the base for this mix. You can make our homemade Muddy Buddies or just buy them from the store. I used store-bought here to keep it easy. Combined with fall colored M&Ms, candy corn, honey-roasted peanuts, caramel nibs, chocolate-covered pretzels, and mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, it is a fun, addictive, and festive treat. This is an adaptable mix; you can use your own mix-ins and substitute what you like.
All the ingredients are store-bought; no baking or heating required. I love that it truly comes together in minutes. It can be made in advance, or it can be a great last minute Halloween treat.

- Chocolate-covered pretzels (I used Flipz brand Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels)
- Honey roasted peanuts
- Candy corn

- Kraft’s Unwrapped Caramel bits
- Fall or Halloween-colored M&Ms (I used a 10-ounce bag; you can buy a Halloween blend or use fall colors from a regular mix.)
Easy Halloween Party Snack Substitutions
I know what it’s like when you don’t have everything on hand, and the last thing you want to do is run to the store and pick something up. Here are a few ideas to substitute items on the ingredients list if needed:
- You can use different add-ins. Try Reese’s Pieces, chocolate chips, different types of M&Ms (like peanut or peanut butter filled), mini Oreos or other mini cookies, chocolate-covered nuts, or other fall colored candies.
